Career History

Deb brings 20 years of experience working in leadership roles and as a management consultant with public value and emergency management organisations. She has previously held leadership roles with Victoria Police, the Country Fire Authority and the Victorian Government’s Department of Premier and Cabinet. She is also a former partner of Cube Group, a Melbourne-based management consulting firm.

Deb’s consulting work and interests span strategic planning, organisational transformation, working with complex team dynamics, facilitation, independent reviews, and stakeholder engagement. She specialises in organisational and inter-organisational dynamics, and is highly regarded for her engaging, collaborative style, and her ability to conceptualise conversations.

Deb works at all levels, from planning with boards and executive teams to facilitation of workshops for 40+ organisations working together on a challenge. She applies a deep understanding of system psychodynamics, assisting people to better understand the intangible aspects of their organisation.

Deb’s clients span many areas and include, for example, the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience, RMIT, the Royal Children’s Hospital, Life Without Barriers, Emergency Management Victoria and Victoria’s Treaty Advancement Commission.

Deb has authored national reviews and guidance in Australia’s emergency management sector. She has also been an invited speaker at events such as the Australian and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) conference and the National Institute of Organisation Dynamics Australia (NIODA) symposium.

She contributes her time pro bono to community organisations and boards and is a Non-Executive Director of the Emergency Services Foundation.

Deb is regularly engaged by leaders who are challenged with complex scenarios or team dynamics.
